Mildred (Majocka) Gracia, 73, of Fairhaven died Saturday November 5, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Anthony V. Gracia, Jr.
Born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Peter and Alice (Krol) Majocka, she lived in Fairhaven for most of her life.
Mrs. Gracia was formerly employed as a bookkeeper at Southeastern Massachusetts University until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, Class of 1955, and the Kinyon-Campbell Business School.
She was devoted to her family. She was an accomplished violinist. She enjoyed knitting and going to Foxwoods.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Douglas Dwelly Jr., and David Dwelly, both of New Bedford, and Donna Alves and Diane Forcier, both of Fairhaven; a stepson, Paul Gracia of Tiverton, RI; a brother, John Majocka and his significant other Sigrid Hofmann of Dartmouth and Cape Coral, FL; a sister, Florence Botelho and her husband Ted of Port Charlotte, FL; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Joseph Alves.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett.
