Obituary

Joseph O. Short, 88, of Hebron, NE and formerly of Franklin, died October 24, 2011 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury, NE. He was predeceased earlier this year by his wife of 64 years, Stacia N. (Racki) Short.

Born in Worcester on December 18, 1922, son of the late Wilfred and Rose (Menard) Short, Mr. Short worked for many years at various auto body shops in the Foxboro, Norwood and Walpole areas.

Mr. Short served in the Army during WWII, stationed in England, France and Germany and attained the rank of Tech-4.

Mr. Short was an avid reader and Boston sports fan and enjoyed boating on Cape Cod.

He is survived by his children, Paul Short and his partner Judy Brogan-Forrester of Milford, Robert Short and his wife Dee of Fairbury, NE, Kathleen Radzikowski of Medway, Rosemary Stonkus of Lynn and Joanne Thackaberry and her husband James of Douglas, twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours for both, Stacia and Joseph Short on Saturday, November 12 from the Ginley Funeral Homes of Franklin, 131 Main St. at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
