NEW BEDFORD — Steven "Soogie" M. Santos, 67, of New Bedford, passed away on October 31, 2011, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Mary E. (Avila) Cummings and the late Alfred "Bozo" G. Santos.
He was well known for his involvement in local politics and veteran's issues.
Mr. Santos is survived by two brothers, Alfred "Butch" and Fredrick Santos; five sisters, Doris Ramos, Flora Senna, Barbara Andrade, Ann Viator, Alfrieda DaCosta; sons, Jeremy (Janine Juan) of New Bedford, Matthew (Jessica) Santos of Alexandria, VA; and a daughter, Bethany Santos-Fauteux of New Bedford. He is also survived by loving grandchildren, Derek and Elijah Santos, Calvin and Grant Santos, and Bailey Fauteux.
Visiting hours are Friday, November 4, 6-8 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
