Patrick J. Maguire, 77, of Londonderry, NH died Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center, Manchester, NH following a lengthy illness. He was born on July 3, 1934 in Troy, NY, a son of the late Thomas and Helen (Brown) Maguire. He was a resident of Londonderry for four years, formerly living in Bedford, NH and New London, NH. Mr. Maguire served in the US Army during the Cold War. He grew up in the projects and worked his way up until he finally owned his own printing company, Imperial Company Inc. in West Lebanon, NH for over 30 years. He always said that he had ink in his blood and loved the printing business. He loved boating and was a member of the Meredith Yacht Club in Meredith, NH. Mr. Maguire was an avid reader especially war novels and was a history buff with special interest in military history. He and his wife Joanne enjoyed buying and selling property. They owned a home in Florida where they belonged to The Club at Barefoot Beach and enjoyed spending time there. He also enjoyed golfing and he and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed going to dinner theater.
He is survived by his wife Joanne Maguire, of Londonderry, one daughter, Brooklyn Cyr of California, one son, Mark Maguire of Vermont, one granddaughter, Autumn Maguire, Joanne’s children, Denise Dolan and her husband Thomas of Dracut, MA, Doreen Cormier of Dracut, MA, their five children, Shaun Vigeant & Fiance Jamie Zolli, Brian Vigeant, Erica Gearin, Jamie Cormier and Devon Cormier, one great grandchild, Brayden Gearin, one brother Edward Maguire and his wife Marilyn of Troy, NY, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Sunday November 6, 2011 from 1 – 4PM at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Burial followed in Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Road, Londonderry. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104, American Heart Association, Northeast Affiliate, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the charity of one’s choice.
