Obituary

Robert Arthur Perry, husband of 62 years of the late Jean Evans Perry went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 29, 2011 with his son and daughter by his side.

Born in Somerville, MA, September 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Arthur C. Perry and late Grace (Lakin) Perry.

He graduated from Somerville High School. In 1942 he entered the 23rd US Navy Seabee Construction Battalion stationed in the Pacific during World War 11. After the war he was employed at Security Steel and Iron Works and American Architectural as a draftsman. He also worked for West End Iron Works in East Boston as an estimator. Robert was a member of the West Medford Congregational Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of the Fusiliers.

He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed golf and will be remembered for his many drawings. His artwork is appreciated by all who see it. He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his son Douglas W. Perry, and his wife Sandi and granddaughters Jaki and Jordan Perry of Medford, MA, his daughter Diane P. Ware, her husband Don and his grandchildren Nathan, Rachel Kristi, Matthew, Elisabeth, Sarah, Joshua and Caleb Ware of Merrimack, New Hampshire; his late sister Doris Powell and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service celebrating Bob’s life was held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of West Medford, 400 High St., Medford. Many family and friends were in attendance. Visiting Hours were held on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford.
