Obituary

LEICESTER: Richard L. Morris 77, of 181 Pleasant St., died Monday, October 31 in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 55 years, Shirley B. (Rouleau) Morris, two sons Paul R. Morris and his wife Laura and Robert L. Morris all of Leicester, a daughter Jennifer A. Strangie and her husband Paul of Shrewsbury, five grandchildren Paul R. Morris, Jr. of Orlando, Fl., Benjamin J. and Daniel R. Morris of Leicester, Zachary J. and Isabella M. Strangie of Shrewsbury. He is predeceased by a son Richard L. Morris, Jr. in 1961.
He was born in Worcester and later graduated from St. Stephen’s High School. He served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 205 in Rochdale.
Mr. Morris was a truck driver for 33 years for the Local 170 Truck Drivers Union in Worcester, retiring in 1994. He later went on to own and operate Pleasant View Spa and Morris’s Deli, both in Leicester.
Private graveside services and burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours at the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester are Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 4 to 7p.m.
