Obituary

Mr. John G. Garson, a resident of Lawrence and beloved husband of the late Marie M. (Paradis) Garson, died at Penacook Place in Haverhill on Thursday evening, October 27, 2011. He was 81 years.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on June 26, 1930, John was the son of the late Frank and Ella (Gorrow) Garson. Mr. Garson served during the Korean Conflict in the Air Force and received his honorable discharge before returning home to Lawrence. John worked for as a Computer Maintenance Specialist for RCA for 25 years and also worked for the Foxboro Company for 20 years until his retirement in 1995. In his spare time, Mr. Garson enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes. He also loved baseball and all sports.
He will be sadly missed by his loving children; William and his wife Mary Blanchette of California, Fred Garson of Oklahoma, Phil and his wife Miki Blanchette of Vermont, Gail Hawkings of Lawrence, Ruby and her husband Rob Poulin of Oklahoma, Laura Akins of New Mexico, daughter-in-law; Lucille Blanchette of Methuen, 25 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. John was also the devoted brother of the late Lionel Garson.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held on Monday, October 31, 2011, from 4 to 7 PM. Burial was private.
