SALEM - Merlie M. (Merida) Dombrowski, 70, wife of Steven J. Dombrowski, Sr., of Beverly, died Saturday evening, October 29, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital after being stricken at home earlier in the day.
Born in Magdiwang, Romblon, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Juan and Mamerta (Moral) Merida.
In 1973, Merlie married Steven , who was serving in the US Navy and since then, has lived in Bayonne, NJ, Pearl Harbor, HI, and San Diego, CA before moving to Beverly in 1989.
Merlie was currently employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Essex Park Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly, where she has worked for the past 15 years.
Besides her husband, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage, she leaves one son, Steven J. Dombrowski, Jr. of Beverly, two brothers, Haudini Merida, Juan Merida, Jr., one sister, Trinidad Nievera and several nieces, nephews and other family, all of the Philippines.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 10 am at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
