Obituary

BEVERLY: Joseph E. Stacey, 73, died Friday, October 28, 2011 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Carol L. "Bunny" (Marzerka) Stacey.
Born in Peabody on July 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph and Phyllis (Marinkevicius) Stankevich. He was a graduate of Peabody High School class of 1956 and the Chamberlain Junior College in Boston. He had resided in Peabody for many years before moving to Beverly in 1961. Joe also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for many years.
Joseph was the proprietor of Kernwood Sales for several years before his retirement in 1995. Along with his wife Carol, they also owned and operated Bunny’s Bed and Breakfast in Beverly for many years. Joe was a real handyman and loved tinkering with computers. He also enjoyed traveling and especially loved to spend time with his family.
In addition to his wife of fifty years, he is survived by three adoring daughters, Kim A. Stacey of Groveland, Deanna L. and her husband, Rico Vigliotta and Nancy J. Burke all of Clermont, FL; five grandchildren, Nicholas Burke and Matthew and Christopher Vigliotta all of Clermont, FL and Derek and Tyler Lovasco both of Groveland; two brother-in-laws, Paul and his wife, Maryellen Marzerka of Kingston, NH and Edward and his wife, Judith Marzerka of Wolfeboro, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Jenny Anderson and Frances Golin.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 4 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be in North Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
