MARLBOROUGH/ WAYLAND: Ruth Ann (Clayter) Dowse, 59, died on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Natick following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Vinalhaven, Maine on March 13, 1952 the daughter of the late Ernest J. Clayter, Jr. and Carolyn J. (Brown) Morton and her husband Edwin J. Morton of Rockland, ME.
Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 10 years John M. Dowse of Marlborough, formerly of Wayland. She was the step-mother of Rebecca L. Byers and her husband Ward Byers and their son Ward Indy Byers all of Lawrence, KS and Jennifer A. Dowse of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by her sisters; Dawn Morrison and her husband Pastor James Morrison of Marlborough and Lisa Winslow and her husband Rick Winslow of Rockland, ME and the late Judith Wahlman. Ruth is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ruth spent her formative years in Vinalhaven, ME. She graduated from Vinalhaven High School and then attended business school in Portland, ME. She was formerly a resident of Framingham and Wayland. For the past 10 years, she has been a secretary for the Greater Grace Christian Fellowship. Ruth was an outgoing person and loved to meet people from all walks of life. She was devoted to her Christian faith and lived each day to the fullest. She will be missed by all of the lives that she touched.
At the request of her family there will be no funeral home visitations. Private family graveside services will be held at the Dowse family lot in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Greater Grace Christian Fellowship, 187 Pleasant Street, Marlborough with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests memorial gifts in Ruth’s memory may be sent to the Greater Grace Christian Fellowship.
