Maria C. (Ricardo) Melo, age 100 of Fall River passed away October 29, 2011. Born in Furnas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the widow of Manuel C. Melo and daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Trindade Pereira) Ricardo. Maria was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Mrs. Melo was the mother of Jose R. Melo (wife Maria I.) and Daniel Melo (wife Encarnacão) both of Fall River and Maria De Deus Doliveira (husband Victor) of Vancouver, Canada; grandmother of Cristina Ferreira, Anabela V. Covel and Jose C. Melo and great grandmother of Michael S. Mathieu and Andrew J. Ferreira; she was an aunt to several nieces and nephews and had several late siblings.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St., Fall River WEDNESDAY at 10:30 A.M. with by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 11:30 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 5-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
