Jeannette R. (Belanger) Gifford, 89, of Little Compton, RI died Friday, October 28, 2011 at home. She was wife of the late Adelbert F. “Del” Gifford.
Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Jerry and Diana (Leclerc) Belanger, she had lived in Little Compton since 1951. She was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton and a member of the American Legion Womens Auxiliary, Little Compton. Mrs. Gifford was known for her cooking and she enjoyed yard sales, antiques and the outdoors, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son: Richard W. Gifford of CT; a brother: Leo Belanger of Mattapoisett; a sister: Doris Y. Richard of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Dorothy Almeida and Pauline Picard.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday from 9 – 10 A.M. prior to the Mass at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
