George J. Grimshaw, 88, of Randolph died Tuesday October 25, 2011. He was the husband of the late Teckla A. (Romanko) Grimshaw.
Born in New York, New York, the son of the late George and Dorothy (Cotton) Grimshaw, he lived in Randolph for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Randolph.
Mr. Grimshaw was formerly employed as a banker in the Boston financial district for 40 years until his retirement.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed painting, singing, camping, walking on the beach, going to flea markets, and collecting books. He will be remembered for his inventive sense of humor.
Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Dayton and her husband Stephen and Deborah Allen and her husband Richard; three grandchildren, Joshua Dayton, Hannah Dayton and Rebecca Garner; and five great-grandchildren.
He was the grandfather of the late Jason Allen.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 9 AM at St. Lawrence Church, New Bedford. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
