LAWRENCE - Doris J (Malenfant) Mikutel, 84, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, Ma. Doris was born in Lawrence on July 16, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Leo and Marie Malenfant. She attended local schools and worked as a switchboard operator for New England Telephone Co. and various local banks and businesses. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Parish in Lawrence. Doris was a wonderful cook whose dessert speciality was her famous 'congo-bars'. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all who loved her. Doris is survived by her sons, Stanley F. Mikutel and wife Susan of Pelham, NH and John A. Mikutel of Derry, NH; daughters, Kathleen Mendieta of North Andover and Julia Mikutel and husband Steve of Lawrence; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Catherine, Maria, Monique, Eric, Laurel and five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Caryna, Kassandra, Brianna, Leilani along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank S Mikutel; sisters, Theresa, Simone, Yolanda and brother Real. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice, however, all prayers on her behalf will gladly be accepted and appreciated.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Church, burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Saturday for 8:00am to 9:30am at the Plonowski Funeral Home, 180 Jackson Street. The funeral is under the direction of Edgar J. Racicot Inc.
