WORCESTER-Alexandra (Economou) Manos also known as Manolopoulos, 93, of Worcester died Tuesday, October 25th in UMass Memorial Medical Center. Her husband of 51 years, William Manos died in 1988. She leaves three sons, Tom Manos and his wife, Renie of Worcester, Chris Manos and his wife, Ruth of West Boylston and George Manos and his wife, Joanne of Colts Neck, NJ; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was born in Canton, OH, the daughter of Panayioti and Diamondou Economou. At the age of two she moved with her family to Greece, and lived there for sixteen years before returning to the United States. Mrs. Manos had been employed by Newton Sportswear in Worcester for 30 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the ILGWU.
Her funeral is Saturday, October 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 9:30 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, October 28th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
