Vena E. Buck, 88

Dateline: Easton, MA

Vena E. (Pierson) Buck, 88, of Easton, Passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2011 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton.
Born in Cornville, Maine on December 26, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Edward F. and Eva M. (Later) Pierson.
A resident of Easton for most of her life, Vena grew up in East Bridgewater and was a 1940 graduate of East Bridgewater High School.
Prior to retiring, she had been employed as a tester and calibrator at the Foxboro Co. Throughout her 21 years with the Foxboro Co., Mrs. Buck had worked at the Companies Foxboro, East Bridgewater and Plymouth plants and was a member of the 20 year club.
When younger, Vena had operated a seamstress shop at her home in Easton and did many alterations for members of the Easton Fire and Police Departments.
A former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 164, Vena was also a former 4-H Club leader in Easton.
Dedicated to her adoring family, Mrs. Buck enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading and was anticipating the birth of her eleventh great grandchild.
She is survived by her loving children; Lawrence “Larry” Allen of Easton, Leonard F. Buck of East Freetown, Bonnie J. Buck of New Bedford, Judith A. Buck of Easton and the late Edward A. Buck, Jr. and Richard E. Allen. The sister of the late Clayton E. Pierson, she is also survived by cherished 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday October 31st at 11:00 A.M. in the Covenant Congregational Church, 204 Center St., Easton. Burial will follow in the John Selee Cemetery in Easton.
Visitation will be held on Monday morning prior to services beginning at 9:00 A.M. in the Covenant Congregational Church.
In lieu of flowers, Vena’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Mass. Audubon Society, 963 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
