Obituary

Anastasia D. (Dubac) Lawrence, 85, of Dartmouth, formerly of New Bedford, died Friday March 5, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lt. Colonel Antonio J. Lawrence.

Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Makar A. and Xenia (Wesilovsky) Zawerucha, she traveled throughout the United States and abroad while her husband served in the military, later settling in Dartmouth and New Bedford.

She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, animals, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey J. Lawrence and his wife Nancy of New Bedford and Jay A. Lawrence and his wife Cheryl of Grand Abaco, Bahamas; a sister Lucy Livingston of Missouri; four grandchildren, Jay Lawrence of Providence, RI, Jonathan Lawrence and Tara Bolduc, both of New Bedford, and Ashley Hughes of Florida; and three great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Peter A. Lawrence, and sister of the late Ann Jackson, Peter Zavarucha, Walter Zavarucha and Michael Zavarucha.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday March 8, 2004 at 8:45 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., North Dartmouth at 9:45 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday March 7, 2004 from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
