DUDLEY – Sadie C. (Paholski) Collins, 95, of Dudley, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at her home with her family at her side.
She leaves her husband of 68 years, William J. Collins; 3 daughters, Nancy J. Roy of Dudley, Carol A. Collins of Niwot, CO and Kathleen D. Puliafico and her husband Mark of Woodstock, CT; 7 grandchildren, Kimberly Roy Fryer and her husband Jeffrey, Scott W. Roy, Jeffrey J. Roy and his wife Sandy, Angela Puliafico Biondi and her husband Scott, Maura Puliafico Drake and her husband David, Lindsay Puliafico and Alicia Puliafico; 5 great grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Fryer, Kyle and Kaitlyn Roy and Nathaniel Drake; her godchild, Paulette Aniszewski; nieces and nephews, including her nephew Mel Hartley. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mae Czupryna, Helen Chabot and Emelia Aniszewski, by 2 brothers, Walter and Edmund Paholski, and by her son-in-law, Roger J. Roy.
She was born in Dudley, a daughter of William F. and Josephine (Lis) Paholski and lived here all her life. She worked at Stevens Linen Associates and then as a stitcher at Webster Shoe Company prior to her marriage. Sadie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest pleasure in life was loving her husband and “her three girls” and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their activities.
Mrs. Collins was a member of Saint Louis Church in Webster and the Saint Louis League of Catholic Women. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing for family members and church bazaars. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Thursday Morning Coffee League at the Mohegan Bowl-A-Drome in Webster well into her eighties. She was a former member of the Dudley Veterans Auxiliary.
The funeral will be held Friday, October 28, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, October 27, in the funeral home.
