Obituary

FRANKLIN/ NATICK: Mary (MacClellan) Gauthier, 86, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Medway Country Manor Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
She was born in Newton on March 14, 1925 the daughter of the late Donald B. MacClellan and Josephine G. (Mullen) MacClellan.
Mary is survived by her sons; Scott D. Gauthier and his wife Diane Pepi Gauthier of Franklin and Lance C. Gauthier of MA. Grandmother of Daniel F. Gauthier of Natick and Lara M. Gauthier of Maui and Morgan and Cassidy Gauthier both of MA. She was the wife of the late Daniel J. Gauthier who died on April 27, 1994 and sister of the late Ann M. Hall who died on Oct. 26, 1991.
Mary spent her formative years in Cochituate and resided in Natick for over 51 years. She graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1943 and was the Captain of the cheerleaders during high school. She received her nursing degree from Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing and had a long and distinguished career as a registered nurse. Mary retired in 1990 after over 32 years as a registered nurse at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. She was a past president of the Natick Garden Club and a past president of the Natick Firefighters Wives Association. She and her late husband Dan were members of the Blue Knights.
Mary was an outgoing person and loved to socialize with people from all walks of life. She enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in her gardens especially the flowers she grew at her Natick residence. She also enjoyed boating with her family in Essex. She will be greatly missed by all of the lives that she touched throughout the years.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, Oct 26, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 9:00 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St, (Rte 27), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial gifts in Mary’s memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
