Josephine C. (Pisini) Mercure 89, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Sunday October 23, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Edward O. “Mac” Mercure, who died in 2001.
Born in Franklin, June 28, 1922 a daughter of the late Angelo and Saveria (Mele) Pisini, she was raised and educated in Franklin and graduated Franklin High School in 1940. For many years she worked as a shoe repairer for the former Herman Shoe Company of Millis.
She was an avid golfer, and a member of the former Winnesucket Country Club in Woonsocket. She also enjoyed spending winters in Florida, and was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
She is survived by a brother, Victor A. Pisini of Franklin, a sister, Phyllis Warren of Milford, nieces and nephews; Joanne Roberts, Ronald Huntley, and Stephen C. Pisini all of Franklin, James V. Pisini of Cumberland, Maine, Sylvia Burlingame of Upton, Angela Warren and George Warren of Milford.
She was the sister of the late Anthony V. “Coach” Pisini, Ralph V. Pisini, Michelina Huntley, Filomena Gaboury, and Carolyn Fatsy, and was the aunt of the late Ralph V. Pisini Jr., and Barbara Blissell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday Oct. 27th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10AM. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
