In Taunton, October 24, 2011 James D. DaCosta Jr., 72 years old, passed away in Morton Hospital surrounded by his loving family and following a period of failing health. James is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith (Wilbur) DaCosta of Taunton. He was born in New Bedford to his late parents, James & Bertha (Marshall) DaCosta. James has lived in Taunton most of his life and was educated in Taunton schools. He was employed as a truck router at the Swank Co. in Taunton until his illness. A Boy Scout leader in his early years, James also enjoyed collecting coins, stamps, baseball cards and visiting Twin River Casino. He loved spending time with his family and his three cats, Olivia, Charcoal and Butterball. He is the very proud father of Caroline DaRosa & her husband Manuel of Taunton and Susan Fenwick & her husband Nigel of Duxbury, as well as proud grandfather to Andrew Palmer of Duxbury. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra LaPlante of Yulee, FL. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street, Taunton, Ma. 02780 on Friday, October 28th at 9 AM, followed by an interment service at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton.
