Mrs. Jimmie Heard Papson Miller, 88, of Tifton died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. Dr. W. Ches Smith, III and Dr. Wayne Roe will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2011, following the service.
Mrs. Miller was born on September 19, 1923 in Heard County and was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Heard and Bessie Walls Heard, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her previous husbands, William Papson and Dr. John David Miller, Sr.; six brothers; and five sisters. She was retired as beautician/owner of College Hill Beauty Shop. She was active in many civic organizations including the American Legion Auxiliary and a long-time member of the Tifton Garden Club. She was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joyful Sound Choir and the Frank Raley Co-Ed Sunday school class.
Mrs. Miller is survived by one sister, Ruby Boyer of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Donnie R. and Emily Poole of Winston; one daughter, Sandra P. Kunzman of Tucson, Arizona; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
