PELHAM, NH - Beatrice M. (Butler) Byron, age 72, died Thursday evening, Mar. 4, at herPelham home after a courageous one year battle with cancer. She was the wife of Thomas J.Byron Sr., with whom she would have celebrated a 54th wedding anniversary on July 29th.
She was born in Malden, Nov. 16, 1931, a daughter of Beatrice (Pender) (Butler) Harkins ofSomerville and the late Harold Butler. She was raised in Somerville, Cambridge, and Medford,but lived in Tewksbury form 1962 until 1977. She moved to Arkansas for five years beforereturning to Pelham, in 1982.
In her earlier years, she was employed by Pewter Pot Restaurant in Tewksbury, and later retiredfrom Lightolier/Genlyte Company in Wilmington in 1997.
Her hobbies included doll making and collecting antique teapots and bells. She was also adevoted New England Patriots football fan.
She will be best remembered as having devoted her life to her family.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha“Lindy” and her husband Norman Giles of Tewksbury, Wendy and her husband John McCabe ofHaverhill; six sons and their spouses, Thomas Jr. and his wife Mary (Squires) Byron ofTownsend, David “Tabor” Byron, Lawrence and his wife Carol (Nawn) Byron, Wayne Byron,Daniel Byron, all of Pelham, Ronald and his wife Sharon (Lincolnbach)Byron of Concord, NH;four sisters, Marion Willis of Oregon, Elaine and her husband William Hamilton of Arlington,MA, Pauline Murphy of Somerville, Eileen Hamel of Somerville; two brothers, John and his wifeBarbara Butler of Somerville, Thomas and his wife Evelyn Butler of Woburn; a brother-in-law,John Parrot of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, Dawn and her husband Dave Johnston, ThomasGiles, Steven and his wife Teresa Byron, Danielle Byron, Lawrence Byron Jr., Aubrey Byron,Catherine Byron, Christopher Byron, Jonathan Byron, Ashlee Byron, Tyler Byron, ZacharyByron; and one great granddaughter, Ashley Pondelli.
She was also sister of the late Betty Lou Parrot.
Her funeral was held Tuesday, Mar. 9, in the funeral home. Interment was in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH.
