Obituary

WAYLAND: John Dennis Coady, 67, died unexpectedly at the Metrowest Medical Center of Framingham after being stricken at his Wayland residence earlier in the day on October 20, 2011.
He was born in Somerville on May 8, 1944 the son of Barbara E. (Spooner) Coady of Wayland and the late John C. “Doc” Coady who died in December of 2007.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy M. (Ludwig) Coady of Wayland. He was the devoted father of Kelly D. Ciavarro and her husband Sean of Natick; John E. Coady of Phoenix, AZ and Kenneth M. Coady and his wife Rosanne of Waltham. Cherished grandfather of Olivia and Joseph Coady of Waltham and Alexis and Carter Ciavarro of Natick. Brother of Kevin T. Coady and his wife Janice of Medway; Stephen E. Coady of Quechee, VT and the late Leonard W. Coady who died in 2003. Also survived by his dog and faithful companion Cody and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis has been a resident of Wayland for 40 years and spent his earlier years in Somerville. He was a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge and received his BS in Business from Northeastern University. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam Era as an Airman First Class with the United States Air Force.
He was the Founder and President of Colonial Color Corporation in Boston for many years and served for several years as the General Manager of DGI of Burlington when the two companies merged. Dennis retired in 2008 from DGI. He was an accomplished professional photographer with both commercial and private clients within the area. He loved to collect classic cars and was a member of the Corvette Club of Massachusetts. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0462 of Boston and loved to watch football, especially the N.E. Patriots. He also served as a coach with the Wayland Youth Football for over 10 years. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father and grandfather to his family and enjoyed spending his time with them especially his grandchildren.
His visitations will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 9:00 am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
