Goffstown– Donald Albert Curtis, 79, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 19, 2011 at Catholic Medical Center.
He was born in Arlington, MA. on July 16, 1932 the son of Ferris and Mary (Murray) Curtis. He had been a longtime resident of the Manchester area.
He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He served as past President of the Manchester Lions Club. He worked for N.Y. Life, Boston Mutual, and Union Central Life Insurance prior to opening his own agency, Donald A. Curtis Insurance Agency in 1977 until his retirement in 2002.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Adam D. Curtis on July 14, 2002, and a brother Edwin M. Curtis of Tulsa OK. On December 12, 2000.
Family members include his wife of 60 years, Philomena “Phyllis” R. (Correale) Curtis of Goffstown, 2 sons, Daniel Curtis and his wife Jacqueline of Manchester, David Curtis and his wife, Lori, of Hooksett, 1 daughter, Theresa Curtis of Manchester, 4 grandsons, Curtis Brouillard, Tyler Brouillard, Jonathan Brouillard, and Anthony Barnette all of Manchester, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 2 to 6 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in the Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Tribute Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
