Sean W. Harvie, age 36, of Brockton, died unexpectedly October 17, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband of Laura E. (Spivey) Harvie. Born in Waltham, he was the son of Margaret A. (McGourty) Harvie and the late George W. Harvie, Jr. Sean had been a resident of Brockton since 1979 and was a 1993 graduate of Brockton High School, where he was a member of the AV Club. Sean, known for his unique sense of humor, enjoyed writing Star Wars Fiction Stories, music, wrestling, and was an avid Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan. He was currently employed by Community Bank in Brockton, and had previously been employed by Webster Bank. He enjoyed visiting the cardiac unit at Children’s Hospital, but was happiest spending time with his own two children.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children Julia E. and Patrick G. Harvie, two brothers Kevin Harvie and his wife Alisa and Keith Harvie and his companion Evelyn all of Brockton, grandfather Patrick McGourty of Ireland, great grandfather Edward Moore, Sr. of Brockton, mother-in-law Pat Spivey of Brockton, father-in-law John Spivey and his wife Nancy of Plymouth, sister-in-law Stephanie Skinner and her husband Matt of Bridgewater; seven nieces and nephews Corey, Mariah, Marrissa, Christopher, Nicholas, Mikayla and Liam and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 4-7pm. The Funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Saturday at 8am for a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
