Obituary

Varvara L. Mentor, age 34, of Brockton died Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, a daughter of Wilfrid and Saintane (Laurore) Mentor. Varvara immigrated to the United States in June of 1993 and became a United States Citizen last year. She graduated from Somerville High School in 1997 and Roxbury Community College in 2003 with an Associates degree in Liberal Arts. Vava loved children and worked for five years as an assistant to the director at LaGardoche Day Care in Brockton. She enjoyed watching PBS, loved the food channel and always bought two of everything in case someone else wanted one. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, dining out with friends and family, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Vava was loved by her mother Saintance and cherished by her father Wilfrid. Her younger brother Hugues and sister Mitsie will miss her greatly.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday, Oct. 21, from 6-9pm. A funeral Service will be held in Kingdom Hall, 444 Plain Street, Brockton, Saturday, Oct. 22, at 10am. Private burial at Melrose Cemetery.
