Obituary

Stanley T. Gorgol, 84, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on Mon., Oct. 17th at the Hospice Center of the Veterans Hospital in Manchester, NH.

Born in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Tencza) Gorgol. Stan was educated in the Lawrence school system and enlisted during his Senior year to serve in the Pacific Theatre during WW II as an aviator radioman.

Stan was a longtime resident of Salem after retiring from the semiconductor industry as a production manager at ITT. He was an avid 10-pin bowler and was the first in the Merrimack Valley to attain a 200+ league average in the 1960’s era.

Stan belonged to St. Joseph Parish and was a 52 year active member of the Bishop Peterson Knights of Columbus Council and is a 4th Degree Assembly member and has held many offices both local and in the state. He was a proud member of the American Legion, the Salem VFW Post 8546, the Polish American Veterans Julian Stopyra Post of Lawrence and the Salem Kiwanis.

Stan was the loving husband of his wife Pauline (Daviau) Gorgol for over 60 years. He was the patriarch of a large family that includes 4 sons: Dr. Stanley A. and his wife Holly of Londonderry, NH, Michael and his wife Marti of Manchester, NH, Steve and his wife Patti of Hopkington, MA and his son Ed predeceased him; 2 daughters: Linda and her husband Jim Harper of Manhatten Beach, CA and Pamela who lives with her parents in Salem; nine grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Fri., Oct. 21st from 4-8PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.

The Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church in Salem. Burial is Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
