WORCESTER-Dorothea (Tasoudis) Hatzopoulos, 71, of Worcester, died suddenly October 17th in UMass Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Theofilos Hatzopoulos; a son, John Hatzopoulos and his wife, Nicole of Worcester; her daughter, Susan Gergos and her husband, Theofilos of Milford; two brothers, Ioannis and Demos Tasoudis; and her sister Georgia Papadopoulos all of Greece; five grandchildren, Dorothea and Theofilos Hatzopoulos of Worcester and Catherine Tsantakis and her husband Kostas, Anthony and Theodore Gergos all of Milford and many nephews and nieces. She also leaves two brother-in-laws, Athanasios Hatzopoulos of Worcester and Demos Hatzopoulos of Greece; and a sister-in-law Maria Engonidis of South Carolina. She was predeceased by two brothers, Christos and Panagiotis Tasoudis.
She was born in Hrisohorafa, Greece. Mrs. Hatzopoulos was a long time member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and the Cultural Center Hrisohorafa. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt; she will be deeply missed by all.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 20th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue . The funeral is Friday, October 21st with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
