Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 11 am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, N. Easton at 12:15 pm. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:15 pm. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-5 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Don’s memory may be made to The Donald M. Obituary
Mr. Sullivan died Tuesday evening at his home after being stricken suddenly ill. Born in Boston, son of the late John M. and Anna P. (Considine) Sullivan. Raised and educated in Brighton. Resident of Raynham for the past five months, Previously living in North Easton for 30 years. Graduate of St. Columbkille High School Class of 1953 and received a B.S in Education from Boston State College in 1960. In 1970 he received his Masters in Guidance from Bridgewater State College. In 1994 he retired as Director of Guidance at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School where he started as a counselor in 1968. Previously he was a teacher at Stoughton High School, East Boston High School and Boston Public Schools. For over 30 years he had been a High school football official in Easton, MA and he was also a member of the Association of New England Football Officials. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Army at Fort Benning, Georgia. Active member of the Plymouth County Teachers Assoc., Massachusetts Teachers Assoc., and the National Educators Assoc. Past Vice President of the South Shore Guidance Assoc. He enjoyed reading, following politics, summers on Nantucket and time spent with his family and he was also an avid Patriots fan.
He is survived by his wife Margaret P. “Meg” (McKenna) Sullivan, his children, Julianne Casieri and her husband Tony of Medfield; Sean M. Sullivan of Raynham; Dana Sullivan and his wife Beth of Orleans, grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Casieri; Seamus, Emma, Katie and Abby Sullivan and a sister Eileen Dawe of York, Maine and Stewart, Florida and countless nieces and nephews.
