Charlton
Gladys L. (Stone) Davis, 97, of 29 Little Mugget Rd., passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Mary Lane Hospital in Ware.
Her husband of 59 years, Alpheus K. Davis died in 1996.
She leaves behind her devoted son; James H. Davis with whom she lived, and two daughters; Janice E. wife of Robert Collins of East Brookfield, and Elaine L. wife Manny Anagnos of St. Petersburg, FLA.,two grand-daughters; Shannon Collins and her fiancee James O'Neil of Boston, and Erin Collins of Holland, MA., and a sister; Evelyn Hanson of Auburn.
Gladys was born in Boylston, a daughter of Herbert and Ida (Bedard) Stone and has lived in Charlton for many years.
She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester, and worked at Harvey Wells Co.,and the former American Optical Co.
Mrs. Davis was a member for 70 years of the Charlton City United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Southbridge Women's Club.
She loved her home and enjoyed working with her home plants.
The Funeral will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011 with a Service at 11 AM in the Charlton City United Methodist Church, 72 Stafford St.
Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
