Obituary

Peter M. David of Dedham passed away October 15, 2011 at age 95. Born and raised in Boston, Peter had lived in Dedham since 1952. He had worked for many years as a truck driver at Hanna’s Supermarket in Dedham, and later went on to own and operate Em’s Launderette in Dedham with his wife Emily. Peter was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral in West Roxbury, where he was instrumental in the operation and finances of their annual Carnival and weekly Bingo games. As recently as one week before he passed away, Peter was a regular at the weekly card games he shared with a small group of good friends and fellow parishioners.

Peter was the dear and devoted husband of the late Emily (Sarkis). Beloved father of Jacqueline Shahood and her husband David of Acton, Christine Abboud and her husband Alan of Hanover, and Patricia Grasso and her husband Michael of Dedham. Loving grandfather “Jiddou” of Susan, Jean, Courtney, Matthew, and Gregory. Great-grandfather of Alexis, Michael, Rose, Zekke, Regina, Lucas, and Annabelle. Dear brother of the late Joseph and George David, and Helen Baker. Peter is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Peter's Funeral Service was held October 20, 2011 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral 7 V.F.W. Parkway West Roxbury.
