Obituary

Leisa L. Gallien, 42, of Derry, NH died Tuesday March 2, 2004 in Mariner Healthcare in Methuen, MA, after a long battle with a brain tumor. She was born in Derry on November 15, 1961 and had been a lifelong resident. She is the daughter of Albert Gallien of Derry and Judith Trobec of Las Vegas, NV. She grew up knowing many of the natives in Derry and was a 1979 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. She worked as a hairdresser for 10 years before attending nursing school. She graduated in 1995 as a registered nurse and began working as a behavioral nurse at the Hampstead Hospital in Hampstead, NH. Leisa loved children and was very good at communicating with and helping children.

Leisa was a member of Trinity Assembly of God where she accepted the Lord Jesus into her heart many years ago and shared with the congregation becoming a “family member” to all. She was very close with Jeanne Botelho of Salem and Anne Saunders of Derry who stayed by her side, with Leisa’s sister Kim, assisting in her medical care and support during her illness. Leisa was the best friend of her sister Kim and will be deeply missed.

Leisa is survived by her two sons, Nicholas Gallien-Oliver (age 23) and Daniel Gallien (age 13) both of Derry, one grandson, Dylan Gallien of Derry, four sisters, Kim Spanos and her husband Chris of Derry, Julie Gallien of Manchester, Heidi Tanner and her husband Michael of Derry, Sherry McGillen of Manchester, many aunts, uncles, cousins, four nieces, Julia Spanos, Elizabeth Tanner, Kelly Vignault all of Derry, Taylor Carr of Manchester and four nephews, Michael Spanos, Christopher Spanos, Joshua Carr, all of Derry, Chris Broom of Manchester.

Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Friday March 5th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at Trinity Assembly of God, 53 N. Main St., Derry. Burial will be in the Spring in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Leisa's memory the Leisa Gallien Fund, C/O Citizens Bank, PO Box 992, Derry, NH 03038.
