Obituary

WORCESTER-Stephen F. Gallagher, 57, of Worcester, died Sunday, October 9th in his home surrounded by his loving family, friends, and loyal dog Kaiser, after a long battle with a serious illness. He kept a positive attitude regardless of the challenges he faced and kept his sense of humor through it all.
He leaves a son, Christian S. Gallagher of Worcester; a sister, MaryAnn Cerbo and her husband Frank of Forked River, NJ, and their two children; a step-sister, Maureen Gallone of NJ; two half-sisters, Michelle and Janette Martello of Flushing, NY; his step-mother, Barbara Gallone; and his grandmother, Ana Gilmartin. He also leaves Debra (Gehrhardt) Gallagher of Framingham.
He was born in North Hempstead, NY, the son of the late Stephen F. and Virginia (Gilmartin) Gallagher. He graduated from Kearny High School in New Jersey and Quinsigamond Community College with a degree in Computer Science. Stephen worked for Data General for 18 years, and later worked as a Senior Systems Computer Analyst at EMC Corp for 10 years.
He enjoyed vacationing in Maine and playing a weekly card game with friends. He was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, and appreciated watching them win the Stanley Cup and raise the Championship banner.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 20th from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
