BOIT, Amy Brown 51, passed away on October 12, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends. Born Amy Grace Brown, she was a lifelong resident of Wellesley. She attended the Wellesley Public Schools, The Noble and Greenough School, and Trinity College, where she received her bachelor's degree with honors in Religion in 1981. After college, she worked for many years at magazine publishing industry, most notably at Inc, Magazine. More recently, she worked in the development office at Fessenden School in Newton, Mass. Deeply spiritual, for many years she was an active member at the First Church, Christ Scientist in Wellesley, and was most recently a member of the Wellesley Congregational Church. She was devoted to her Bible study and cherished her time at the Village Church. Active in local charities, she spent considerable time at the Wellesley Food Bank and devoted many hours to her sons' schools and activities. She is survived by her husband, Christopher S. Boit, her beloved sons, Andrew S. and Timothy B. Boit, her sister Elise B. Sillers of Austin, Texas, brother Jacob B. Brown III of South Natick, Mass, her parents, Jacob B. Jr. and Dianne Brown of South Natick, Mass, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Wellesley Congregational (Village) Church in Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Amy's name to the Wellesley Food Pantry 207 Washington St. 02481.
