BEVERLY: Charles A. “Charlie” Guerrette, 83, died Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital following an extended illness. He was the husband of Josephine A. (Michetti) Guerrette.
Born in Beverly on February 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Eli and Ella (L’Heureux) Guerrette. A graduate of Beverly High School, he had resided in Beverly for most of his life before moving to Danvers eleven years ago. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Charlie was employed as a machinist for forty-two years at the former United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Beverly, where he was a member of it's Quarter Century Club. He was also an expert regulator repair specialist for the diving industry, having worked at New England Diver’s in Beverly and Northeast Scuba in Danvers for many years. He valued the many friends he made throughout the years in the diving community. He was an avid coin collector and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of fifty-seven years, he is survived by four daughters, Joanne M. Fall of Danvers, Denise E. and her husband, Gary G. Rafeal of Beverly, Deborah A. Moss of Groveland and Nancy J. and her husband, Gerald Hannibal of Beverly; seven grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Rafael Baez of Lynn, Christopher Fall of Danvers, Nicholas Rafeal of Boston, Laura Rafeal, Kelly Rafeal and Justin Hannibal all of Beverly and Shana Moss of Groveland; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Brandon Fall and Dominic and Nyomi Baez; a sister-in-law, Eleanor and her husband, Roger Dionne of Beverly and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his grandson, Daniel Guerrette, a son-in-law, Robert Moss and two brothers, Roger and William Guerrette.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be held in North Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the North Shore Elder Services, 152 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA or to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
