SANDWICH/TAUNTON - Lena (Rose) Coelho, wife of the late Joseph Coelho, died on October 12, 2011 at her home in Sandwich after a brief illness.
She was 93.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Martin) Rose.
Educated in Taunton schools, she graduated from Taunton High School in 1935.
In her younger years, she worked at Reed & Barton Silversmiths and RoAnne Jewelers for more than 20 years.
She was also an accomplished crafter.
She was a Member of Villa Fatima Helpers, a volunteer at Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich and a member of The Friends of Sandwich Seniors.
Lena leaves two sons, Joseph F. Coelho and his wife Kathy of S. Yarmouth, and Paul J. Coelho of Plainville; 3 daughters, Mary Anne Long and her husband Earle of Hauula, HI, Terry Rich and her husband Jim of Taunton, and Sr. Paula Coelho, SUSC of Mattapan; 8 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Lena was also the sister of the late Frank and Clarence Rose, and the late Mary Oliver and Anna Tourico.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 17th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Taunton at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 16th from 1 to 4 p.m.
