Mrs. Dorothy Hardy Rice
Augusta, GA – Mrs. Dorothy Hardy Rice, 90, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2011 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard E. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Rice retired from the Richmond County School System where she worked as a teacher and also as a media specialist. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her two sons, George Moore Hardy, Jr. and Charles David Hardy (Ashlyn); her step-daughter, Idelette McNatt; her sister, Mary Peebles; her granddaughter, Marclee H. McDaniel (Andrew); and her great-grandson, Schaefer Graves McDaniel.
Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her first husband, George Moore Hardy, Sr. and also by her second husband, the Reverend Quay D. Rice, Sr.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Rice’s son George Hardy on Thursday evening October 13, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
