Beadie Carter, 89, Denton, GA, passed away at Jeff Davis Hospital on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 following an extended illness. Mrs. Carter is the daughter of Tillman and Lucy Harper Tanner born on December 7, 1921 in Nicholls, GA. Mrs. Carter had been a floor supervisor at Campbell Foods and she was a member of Mt. Pleasant (Byrd) Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Denzil Carter and son: Claude Carter. Survivors include: son: Earl (Angie) Carter; daughters: Myrtle (Waldo) Chaney and Greta ( Jimmy) McCloud; daughter in law: Carolyn Carter; brother: Ossie Tanner, Port St. Lucie, FL; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant (Byrd) Church with burial following in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
