Sibyl Pettit, 96, O’Fallon, MO, formerly of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011. Mrs. Pettit was the wife of the late James Pettit; mother of Mary “Angie:’ (John) Farley and Chris Fischer; grandmother of : Lisa and Johnny Farley, Steve, Cindy, Randy, Gary and Ted Fischer; great grandmother of 19; sister of Carmin Hoffman and Juanita Tanaro. She was a member of the O’Fallon, MO First Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Douglas, GA; lifetime disabled veterans auxiliary volunteer in Lake City, FL and member of American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at First Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating with burial following in the Douglas City Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Pettit will lie in state at First Baptist Church from 3:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m.
