Obituary

Eugene J. “Bud” Bruce of Pocasset formerly of Stoughton died unexpectedly in the Falmouth Hospital February 29,2004. He was 92.

Born in Brockton he moved to Easton as a child where he attended school. He moved to Stoughton in 1931. Having recently celebrated 73 years of marriage, Bud lived a wonderful life with his “girl” Jen.

Bud owned and operated the Stoughton Sports Center for many years and frequented Cape Cod to pursue his second love of boating and fishing. Upon his retirement he moved to Cape Cod, where he worked part time at Bigelows Boat Yard refinishing boats. He also mowed lawns for the residents of Tahanto Village up until last year. He could always been found on Sunday morning sitting on the dock of the village reading his paper, and having his coffee and doughnut.

He was a member of the Dewitt Clinton Lodge AF & AM in Sandwich and the Tahanto Assoc.in Pocasset.

Beloved husband of Jennie L. (Heath). Loving father of Shirley M. Dean of Framingham, Thelma J. Hanson of RI, Eugene F. and his wife Janiece Bruce of Stoughton, Barbara J. and her husband Raymond Barra of N. Easton, Vivian L. and her husband Clifton Sawyer of Stoughton and David J and his wife Kathleen Bruce of Marston Mills. Dear father in-law of Pam Bruce of Hyannis and the late Norman P. Dean and Richard P. Hanson. Brother of Eleanor MacMakin of Easton. Also survived by his cherished 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours in the Sheehan Funeral Home 115 Monk St ( Off Rt. 138 at the First Federal Savings Bank) STOUGHTON Wednesday from 10 AM –12 PM followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment So. Easton Cemetery
