WAREHAM – Mary E. Grassie, formerly of Taunton, died at her Onset home on Oct. 10, 2011.
She was 88.
Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary E. (Sousa) Grassie.
She was educated in Dighton and Taunton schools.
A 1941 graduate of Taunton High School, she was later employed as a secretary for Swank, Inc. in Attleboro for many years, retiring in 1991.
She was also employed by the former Taunton Dog Track and Taunton Flea Market.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Wareham, Mary enjoyed golf and softball.
Survivors include two sisters, Margaret A. Golemo, and Ann M. Raymond, both of Wareham; her dear friend, Rita Medeiros of Wareham; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Lillian DePonte, Madeline Mercer, Darlene Scolamiero, and Virginia Pierce.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Oct. 14th at 12 noon.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, prior to the services.
