McDougal - Paul M. McDougal, 56, of Yulee, FL passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. He was born June 16, 1955 in Cook County, IL and moved to Yulee in 2006 from Jacksonville, FL.
He was retired from the U. S. Navy as an Aviation Electronics Chief and during his tenure with the Navy served on six different aircraft carriers. He was a veteran of Desert Storm and the recipient of the following medal and commendations: the Navy Commendation Medal, three Navy Achievement Medals, five Good Conduct Medals , the Navy Battle āEā, two West Asia Service Medals, Joint Meritorious Unit Award Ribbon, USCG Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon with Operational Device, three Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbons, four Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Flag Letter of Commendation, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Kuwait Liberation Medal. After naval retirement he also worked as a civilian at NAS Jacksonville here he completely rewired one of the stealth aircraft. Chief McDougal was a member of the American Legion in Fernandina Beach, FL.
He was predeceased by his father, Walton S. McDougal who passed away in 1998 and his mother, Helen Moore McDougal, who passed away in 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta McDougal of Yulee, FL; two daughters, Shastin Harrell of Jacksonville, FL and Candice Patterson (Jason) of Tampa, FL; his step mother, Jean McDougal of Deland, FL; two brothers, Robert McDougal of Miami, FL and David McDougal of Deland, FL; three grandchildren, Alexus, Emalee and Kailin; his God-children Eddie Mathews and Emma Mathews; a God-granddaughter, Dalilah Mathews; and his four-legged children, Lady, Roscoe and Josie.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Navy Funeral Honors.
