Mr. Ferdinand M. Santarpio Sr. of Billerica formerly of Burlington passed away at the Life Care Center of Billerica on October 11th, following a lengthy illness. He was 86. "Freddie" as he was affectionately known, was the beloved husband of Eleanor P. (Fumicello) and together they shared sixty years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was one of twelve children of the late Gaetano and Elvira (Barrasso) Santarpio.
Freddie was a retired truck driver in the Produce Industry and was also a member of the Teamsters Union local 25. He loved cooking and for many years he operated Santarpio's Catering Co. Mostly devoted to his large family, he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife, He is survived by his children, Cheryl A. Johnson and her husband David of Nashua, NH, Michael A. and his wife Paula of Reading, Richard M. and his wife Lesley, Ferdinand M. Jr. and his wife Mary all of Billerica, Gary S. Santarpio and his fiancé Deborah Davis of Tewksbury. He is also survived by 14 loving grandchildren and 6 loving great grandchildren. He was the brother of Vincent Santarpio of Stoughton, Frank Santarpio of Somerville, Elvira Sico of Quincy, Vivian Brown of Franklin, the late Julian Falzarano, Anna Camillo, Pauline Egidio, Rose Spacco, Henry, Guy, and Romeo Santarpio.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, October 14th, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Margaret Church, 109 Winn St., Burlington, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Thursday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
