Anthony R. "Butchie" DePietro Jr., a 14 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Chelsea, died on Monday, October 10, 2011, at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a 4 month battle with cancer. He was 68 years old.
Anthony was born in Boston on July 29, 1943 to the late Anthony R. and Rose (Forgione) DePietro. He grew up in Chelsea where he attended Chelsea Public Schools and graduated from Chelsea High School. Anthony had been working as a precision sheet metal mechanic for Profab Manufacturing in Lynn for the last 7 years and previously worked for Teradyne of North Reading for 15 years as a precision sheet metal mechanic. Anthony enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara and was a member of the Lynn Bowling League.
Anthony is the beloved husband of 24 years to Barbara L. (Monk) DePietro. He is the loving father of William and his wife Joanne and grandson Joshua all of Shrewsbury. He is the devoted brother of George DePietro of Chelsea, Elaine Verro of Manchester, New Hampshire, Rosemarie DePietro of Manchester, New Hampshire, Wayne DePietro and his wife Marian of Revere and the late Louis DePietro. He is also survived by his children; Debra Jackson, Bobby DePietro, Michael DePietro and Thomas DePietro and 8 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anthony's Funeral Service on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Wakefield/Melrose line. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, October 13, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m.
