Sister Eileen Lally MHSH, died in Stella Marie Hospice in Baltimore, MD on September 17, 2011. She was born in Brookline, MA on October 22, 1924 and graduated from Brookline High School in 1942. She entered the Mission Helpers Convent on November 6, 1945 after her family was home safely from the war.
She was the daughter of the late Martin J. and Mary (Gaffney) Lally and predeceased by her siblings, Mary Lally, Catherine Connor, Elizabeth Berube, Therese Haskell, Rita Wood, and John W. Lally. Eileen is survived by her brother Martin T. (Micky) Lally and his wife Irene of Manomet, MA. Her many devoted friends and 21 nieces and nephews and their children.
Her Missionary work (66 years) took her all over our country; New York –Bronx, Massachusetts St. Christine’s in Marshfield, Virginia, San Antonio, TX, Lewes, Delaware, the South End of Boston, Central America, and Puerto Rico. Most recently she was teaching English in Baltimore, MD She will be sadly missed by devoted family and the many dear friends whom in her joyful life and missions, gave her heart and soul full of happiness.
All services took place at the Villa in Baltimore with her community of Sisters on September 23 and 24. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery West Roxbury on Monday October 17, at 11:00 AM family and friends invited.
