WORCESTER-Dorothy (Sugarman) Drake, 88, of Worcester, died Sunday, October 9th in the Lutheran Healthcare Center. Her husband, Wilbur R. Drake, died in 1987. She leaves a son, Rev. Frank J. Alexander and his wife Donna of Kingston; three brothers, James and George O’Connor, both of Worcester and Francis O’Connor of Uxbridge; a sister, June Lavin of Worcester; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Edward J. Alexander, died in 1967 and her daughter, Sandra T. Webster, died in 1997. She was also predeceased by a brother, Edward O’Connor and two sisters, Mildred Beckwith and Gertrude West.
She was born in Shrewsbury, the daughter of Israel and Rosemarie (Cotton) Sugarman. Mrs. Drake was a member of the Assembly of God.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 13th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Interment will be private. Calling hours are from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 12th in the funeral home.
