Kenneth Lester Boyd, age 66, of 201 Stanley Drive, Danville, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Kindred Hospital, Greensboro.
Born March 22, 1945 in Elkin, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Charlie Lester Boyd and Irene Hayes Boyd. He retired from Dan River Mills and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Ruby Wilson Boyd of the home; one daughter: Kimberly J. Davis and her husband Mark of Prattville, Alabama; one sister: Gaynell Merricks of Danville; two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Larry Charles Boyd.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Roy Newton will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the chapel one hour prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the residence, 201 Stanley Drive.
