Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Mr. Grimaldi died Monday at his home following a period of failing health.Born in Canosa, Italy, son of Nancy (Piscitelli) Grimaldi of Brockton and the late Luigi Grimaldi. Mr. Grimaldi came to the United States at the age of 28 and settled in Brockton. Graduated from schools in Italy. He retired as a self-employed tile setter. Member of the Old Colony YMCA. He enjoyed gardening and working around the yard. He also loved to play the organ and also enjoyed making wine.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Isabella (D’Alessandro) Grimaldi, a daughter, Gina L. Akesson and her husband Eric and two sons, Joseph L. Grimaldi and his wife Amanda and Richard C. “Rick” Grimaldi all of Brockton, three grandchildren Eric and Matthew Akesson and Jacob Grimaldi, two brothers, Dino of Taunton and Nick of Bridgewater, three sisters, Grace Siscoe of Brockton, Anna Livingston of FL and Louise Grimaldi of Brockton and many nieces, nephews and an uncle Pat Piscitelli of Wellesley.
