ASHLAND: Anthony A. “Tony” Sarni, 77, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham following a brief illness.
Tony was born in the North End section of Boston on January 5, 1934 the son of the late Michael and Louise E. (Prisco) Sarni.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Michele C. (Siegel) Sarni of Ashland formerly of Sherborn. He was the devoted father of Michael A. Sarni of Orlando, FL; Paul D. Sarni of Branson, MO; Dana F. Sarni of Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I. and Shana M. Sarni of Ashland. Cherished grandfather of Jenna Noel Sarni of Branson, MO.
Tony spent his formative years in the North End of Boston and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School. He has resided in Ashland for the past 25 years and with his wife Michele raised their children in Sherborn and resided there for 12 years. He had a long and distinguished career as a contractor and was the owner of Sarni Remodeling in the metrowest area. He loved music and was a talented and accomplished drummer with the Paul Champ Trio in the Boston area and played at many social functions. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family and will be greatly missed. Anthony had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances and was known to many as “Tony, “Little T”, and “Tucker”.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 11:00 am at the New Hope Community Church, 204 Main St, Marlborough.
Interment will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 am at Pine Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, Sherborn.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Salvation Army, 35 Concord St, Framingham, MA 01704.
